Principal: Regina Lucero
Regina Lucero is a dedicated educator and proud member of the Pueblo of Isleta, currently serving as the Principal of Bosque Farms Elementary, a school that holds special significance as her own alma mater. With over 12 years of experience in education, Regina’s journey began as a secondary math teacher in Albuquerque public schools, followed by teaching roles in Anchorage, Alaska. She has also held positions as a lead teacher in the Anchorage School District and as an Assistant Principal here in the Los Lunas Schools District, bringing a wealth of leadership experience to her current role.
Regina earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Management from Haskell Indian Nations University, followed by a Master’s in Business Administration from Baker University. She has also received an alternative teaching licensure through Central New Mexico Community College and holds a second Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Kansas. A proud alumna of Los Lunas High School, Regina resides in Isleta Pueblo with her husband, Merlin Lucero of Laguna Pueblo, and their five children. Two of their daughters are successful graduates of the Los Lunas School District; one is completing her Master’s at New Mexico State University, while the other is a sophomore at Haskell Indian Nations University. Their youngest daughter attends Bosque Farms Elementary. One son is in Education, teaching our native language, and the other son was in the Army and is now in the workforce.
Regina is passionate about the transformative power of education and is excited to work collaboratively with families and the community to ensure every child succeeds every day. She believes in nurturing children into remarkable individuals and fostering a supportive learning environment.
Assistant Principal: Charlotte Dosumu
Charlotte Dosumu has dedicated her life to education, spending over 25 years as an elementary educator and recently stepping into the role of assistant principal, which she has held for the past three years. Growing up in the small community of Teec Nos Pos, Arizona, Charlotte discovered her passion for teaching at an early age, driven by her love for learning and her desire to share that knowledge with others.
A proud graduate of the University of New Mexico (UNM), Charlotte holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She later pursued a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on language and literacy, further enhancing her expertise in the field. To round out her professional qualifications, she earned an Educational Specialist (EdS) certificate in K-12 Administration, preparing her for leadership roles in education.
Charlotte's career has taken her across the United States, where she has worked in New Mexico, Arizona, North Carolina, and Iowa. Her journey through various school systems has enriched her experience, allowing her to adapt and thrive in diverse educational settings. As a Native American woman, Charlotte takes immense pride in being the first in her family to earn college degrees and break into school administration. She views education as a powerful tool—one that no one can take away.
Outside of her professional life, Charlotte enjoys spending quality time with her family, traveling, hiking, and cooking alongside her husband Sam, who is also an administrator in higher education. Her personal and professional values are deeply intertwined, as she believes in the importance of mentorship, not only for students but for the next generation of educators. Charlotte embraces learning as a lifelong process, one that she is passionate about sharing with others, both in and out of the classroom.
